KUWAIT: Kuwait's Constitutional Court on Wednesday ruled against a challenge to the membership of MP Yousef Al-Fadhalah. Lawyer Nawaf Al-Fuzai had filed a case demanding that the court overrules a parliament decision to reject MP Fadhalah's resignation. The court's ruling effectively means that the lawmaker remains a member of parliament.
Independent MP Fadhalah submitted his resignation from the National Assembly last year citing an unfavorable political environment and non-stop political feuds in the Assembly. The Assembly rejected the resignation during a session in March, as only 19 MPs voted to accept the resignation, while the government abstained.
