The Tamilnadu Engineers Forum (TEF) successfully hosted its 3rd technical seminar and curtain raiser for the much-anticipated 16th Technological Innovations Conference and Exposition (TICE) and the 9th Engineering Excellence Awards (EEA) at Radisson Blu Hotel. The event brought together industry leaders and technical experts in a dynamic session aimed at setting the stage for one of the most significant engineering and energy events of the year.
The evening began with the Tamil anthem “Tamil Thai Vaazthu,” followed by a safety moment and a Thirukkural reading by engineers Rajnarayanan and Suresh Anand. The welcome address was delivered by Eng Middleton. Eng Maniyarasu introduced the first speaker of the evening, Konstantin Makarov, MEA Process Product Manager from HACH, USA. Makarov’s session on “Industrial Water Cycles & Hach Online Equipment” highlighted innovative solutions for optimizing water usage across various industrial applications.
The official curtain raiser event commenced at 7 pm with the playing of both Kuwait and Indian national anthems. TEF President Eng Raja and General Secretary Eng Balasubramanian welcomed the guests with bouquets. Eng Raja delivered the presidential address, reiterating TEF’s commitment to advancing engineering excellence and promoting sustainable practices.


The event was further graced by the presence of Salem Al-Ajmi, former consultant to the minister of MEW and CEO of the Sustainability Institute and Sustainable Solutions Co, as well as several other guests of honor, including Saleh Nasser Al-Jateli, Manager - Technical Services, MAA Refinery; Ahmad Ismail Ali Mohd Dashti, Manager – Maintenance, MAA Refinery; and Sabah Al-Shammari, director, Golden Palm.
A special moment followed as joint secretary Eng Periyasamy presented the Journey of TICE & EEA. Al-Ajmi officiated the release of the TICE & EEA-2025 brochures, marking the official countdown to the event, which is set to take place on October 9, 2025, at the Al-Barakka Ballroom, Crowne Plaza.
In his compelling keynote address, Al-Ajmi discussed the importance of green energy in shaping the future and praised TEF for selecting the timely theme of “The Rise of Green Engineering: Advancing Sustainability Through Technology.” The event also featured the honoring of guests with shawls, garlands and mementos. The ceremony was anchored by Eng Prasanna and Eng Middleton.
The second technical seminar, titled “Role of Over-Pressure Protection Devices in Process Optimization,” was delivered by Irfan Shaikh and Neerav Vadagama. An engaging Q&A session followed. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Eng Subbu. The entire event was anchored by Eng Anandraj and Eng Senthilkumar. As TEF looks forward to the TICE & EEA-2025, the evening was a testament to the forum’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the continued advancement of engineering excellence.
