KUWAIT: A police helicopter rescued four persons who were marooned in a muddy sea area off Gharnata, the interior ministry's relations and security information said yesterday. Police responded to a call about three persons stuck at sea, so coastguard and sea rescue teams rushed there but were not able to help. One rescue worker also got stuck with the three, so helicopters were called in. They were rescued without any injuries.
Separately, fire broke out in the balcony of a house in Abdullah Al-Mubarak. Farwaniya fire station men rushed to the scene and put out the blaze. No injuries were reported. Meanwhile, Jleeb and Kabd fire station men rushed to a Sulaibiya warehouse where a fire was reported. The blaze was put out and investigations were initiated to find out the cause of the fire. In the meantime, a fire broke out in a Farwaniya apartment, prompting Farwaniya and Jleeb fire stations to respond. The house was evacuated and fire was put out without injuries.
