'Cat-eyed' tea seller sparks soul searching

KUWAIT: A sound community security is important in protecting individuals and properties in case of an emergency, said a senior fire official on Saturday. Upon directions of First Deputy Prime Minister, Defense Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Al-Sabah, Kuwait Fire Force launched a campaign to remove violations in cooperation with Kuwait’s Municipality, Public Authority for Manpower and Ministry of Electricity and Water and Renewable Energy, Maj. Gen. Khaled Fahad, acting KFF chief told KUNA.

Some 225 violations in areas of Mangaf, Mahboula, Khaitan and Jileeb Al-Shyoukh were detected in the last 48-hour warnings, Fahad pointed out, stressing that the campaign will continue until all violations are removed. He called on building owners to voluntarily remove violations and adhere to safety codes to avoid legal accountability. —KUNA
