KUWAIT: Bader Nasser Al-Kharafi honored Kuwaiti athletes who won medals at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou. The honoring took place at Jaber International Stadium prior to the start of the Zain Premier League derby match between Al-Qadsia and Al-Arabi on Saturday.
Bader Al-Kharafi gifted a Volvo vehicle to each athlete who won a gold medal, $10,000 to each athlete who won a silver medal and $5,000 to each athlete who won a bronze medal during the tournament, in order to encourage Kuwait’s athletes to give their best while representing their country in international competitions.
The ceremony took place in the presence of the Minister of Commerce and Industry and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Mohammad Al-Aiban, President of Public Authority for Sport Yousef Al-Baidan and Vice President of Kuwait Olympic Committee Mohammed Jaffar.
