KUWAIT: Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Kuwait Elkhan Gahraman released a statement yesterday, congratulating Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the State of Kuwait on the 6th anniversary of being awarded the honorary titles of ‘Humanitarian Leader’ and ‘International Humanitarian Center” by the United Nations.
“Under the leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the activities of the State of Kuwait to further improve the social welfare of its citizens, to further strengthen the image of the State of Kuwait in the international arena are immeasurable.” Ambassador Gahraman said. “Kuwait’s successful fight against the new COVID-19 pandemic has been an example for many countries and has rightly been praised by the World Health Organization.”
“Almighty Allah said in the Holy Quran: ‘...And cooperate in righteousness and piety (charity), but do not cooperate in sin and aggression...’ (Surah Al-Maida, 2). The State of Kuwait has made great contributions not only to the Gulf region, but to the entire Islamic world and other parts of the world, to the restoration of peace and stability, to people suffering from war and natural disasters, and to countries in need of development,” Ambassador Gahraman noted.
Furthermore, the envoy indicated that since gaining independence in 1991, the Republic of Azerbaijan has always had the close support of Kuwait. “This mutual support is reflected both in bilateral relations and continues today successfully within the framework of international organizations like as the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Non-Aligned Movement and others,” he stated. “I wish the people and State of Kuwait prosperity and development, and His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah a speedy recovery and return to his homeland,” he concluded.
