KUWAIT: MP Ahmad Al-Fadhl stressed that a study prepared by the Assembly predicts unemployment rates to exceed an unprecedented rate of 25 percent in 2022. "We managed to eliminate unemployment between the 1990s and 2008, but now things have changed," he said, adding that 250 Kuwaiti engineers had so far failed to find any job in either the public or the private sector. Further, Fadhl accused the government of failing to implement its 10-year plan set 10 years ago to reduce the numbers of expats working for the government. "Instead of these numbers falling from 70,000 then to one or two thousand, the number jumped to 95,000 in 2017," he said.
