KUWAIT: As the Asian Shooting Championship, Kuwait 2024, approaches, the shotgun referee courses began on Sunday at Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex, with ISSF technical delegate Abdullah Al-Hammadi from Qatar and his deputy Mohammad Al-Fahad lecturing.
Al-Hammadi thanked in a press statement, Kuwait Shooting Federation for holding an international course to issue international licenses for new referees before the start of the Asian Championship in support of this important continental event.
He said there are juries and referees, while the jury has two levels, as the first level can lecture and participate in open world championships and the Olympics, and his function is to oversee all procedures starting with weapons and safety inspection, yet the most important person in the range is the referee, and no one can change the result except him.
He said the Asian continent referees, particularly in the Gulf region are the elite, and they participated in many championships including international events and in the Olympics. He said we give the referees new regulations, and there are tests during the course, and to get the license the score must be 85 percent at least. The current course has 11 participants, 8 from Kuwait, 2 from UAE and one from Oman.
