KUWAIT: The general secretariat of the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters (NCCAL) mourned the late writer Dr Naji Al-Zaid, who passed away on Monday.

In a statement, the General Secretariat conveyed the condolences of the Minister of Information, the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, the chairman of the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, and the leaders and employees of the council to the families of the deceased and their loved ones, asking the Almighty to bless them.

The late Al-Zaid was one of the most prominent men in the Kuwaiti and Arab cultural scene during his work as a member of the Faculty of Medicine at Kuwait University and his membership in the editorial board for many years. — KUNA
