Kuwait Relief Society inaugurates water project in Yemen

ADEN: The Kuwait Relief Society has launched a water project (benefiting 5,000 people) in the Shamaytin district in the south of Yemen’s Taiz governorate as part of the ongoing ‘Kuwait by Your Side’ campaign for the ninth consecutive year. In a press statement, Abdulaziz Al-Shaibani, Director of the Shamaytin Directorate, praised the efforts exerted by Kuwait to support the Yemeni people in general and the residents of Taiz governorate in particular.

He praised the role of the Kuwait Relief Society in the environmental sanitation sector, pointing out the importance of this achievement. The director of the relations and media department of the executive wisdom association, Adel Aklan, said, “This is the second project supported by Kuwait in the same deprived rural geographical area after the opening of a water project in the Al-Shubaa area in the Al-Muafer Directorate.”

He pointed out that the project included drilling an artesian well with a depth of 293 meters to ensure a permanent abundance of water in the area. He expressed his deep thanks for the role of the Kuwait Relief Society in supporting this important development project and various other projects in the education, health, and environmental sanitation sectors, as well as other sectors. — KUNA
