KUWAIT: Several shops, restaurants and embassies in Kuwait unequivocally expressed their solidarity with the Palestinian people by joining the global strike in support of Gaza. Activists on social media platforms pushed for a comprehensive strike for Gaza on Monday in solidarity with the people of the Gaza Strip against the brutal war by the Zionists, with the aim of pressuring governments and forcing them to take serious action to stop the genocide that has been continuing for more than two months.

The hashtag #strikeforgaza gained significant traction on social media, with a large number of people actively engaging in the campaign, amplifying its reach and impact. Ahmed Abdel Razzaq, a participant who abstained from work as part of the strike, emphasized the campaign’s potential to disrupt the normal flow of life and economic activities globally.

He noted that widespread participation could foster a sense of shared impact, making individuals across various countries more aware of and connected to the repercussions of the aggression on Gaza. The campaign’s ability to resonate widely on social platforms reflects a growing global consciousness and a collective effort to raise awareness about the situation in Gaza.

Mona Saeed indicated that one of her favorite Kuwaiti libraries abstained from work today in response to the Strike for Gaza movement to pressure governments to take action to stop the Zionist aggression, adding she is also on strike and didn’t go to work, and will refrain from purchasing any product on this day.

Hussein Badawi, a Palestinian dissatisfied with what is happening in Gaza, called on people to send a message that the world will stand strong against attempts of killing and displacement that have been taking place since 1948, stressing the strike comes to demand an end to the ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip and the West Bank and to reject the American veto.

Since Oct 7, the Zionist army has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, with over 18,000 martyrs, the majority of whom are children and women. The conflict has left a profound and heartbreaking impact, while the widespread destruction of infrastructure and the unfolding humanitarian catastrophe have compounded the already dire situation. The gravity of the situation underscores the urgent need for international attention and intervention to address the escalating humanitarian crisis and work toward a sustainable resolution for the benefit of the affected population in Gaza.
