KUWAIT: French consultant at the International Labor Organization (ILO) Charles Autheman visited Kuwait Times and Kuwait News on Tuesday, where he was taken on a tour of various departments, including the newsroom, printing press, studio and the artistic space of the newspaper.

Deputy Managing Editor Faten Omar, along with reporters Ghadeer Ghloum and Passant Hisham, welcomed Autheman and provided insights into the rich history of Kuwait Times. The newspaper has a legacy of over six decades as the first English-language daily in Kuwait and the Arabian Gulf.

In a meaningful discussion, Autheman highlighted the potential of Kuwait Times in contributing to awareness and training programs for domestic workers. He shared details about a strategic initiative focused on conducting training activities that center around ethics and human rights for journalists and media practitioners. By deepening their understanding of these crucial aspects, the media can play a pivotal role in supporting quality reporting on labor market issues, especially those involving domestic workers.

With a decade of experience organizing and facilitating training workshops in over 20 countries, primarily in the Middle East, Autheman aims to extend his efforts to Kuwait. His focus is on empowering journalists, trade unions and communication professionals to enhance their skills and contribute positively to labor-related reporting.
