Fire Force admits 561 applicants

KUWAIT: The General Fire Force on Saturday conducted a public lottery to select and accept applications for non-commissioned officer courses which resulted in the acceptance of 561 applicants in addition to 100 reserve members. The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah directed their acceptance, making the total number of those accepted to 661.

The Fire Department said in a press statement that it conducted a public lottery on Saturday morning to select and accept applications for its courses in the presence of the Chief of the Force, Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Mukrad, the Director General of the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training, Dr. Hassan Al-Fajjam, and the Vice President of the Kuwait Transparency Society, Dr Fahd Al-Raqeeb.

However it said that the applicant’s election by the lot is not considered final unless they pass the mandatory medical examination. He explained 1,980 applicants participated in the lottery who met the conditions for admission. 125 applicants were admitted for the Mechanism Operator Sergeant course (25 from the reserve), 75 applicants for Special Tasks Mechanism Operator Sergeant (25 from the reserve) and 100 applicants for Combat Sergeant (25 from the reserve).
