KUWAIT: HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Annual Shooting Championship started at Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex yesterday (Wednesday) declaring the start of the 2023-2024 season with large participation by Kuwait shooters as well as shooters from the army, police and National Guard Associations, all competing for the championship title.

Secretary General of the Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federations Obaid Al-Osaimi said the championship includes the Olympic trap, skeet, for men and women, air pistol and rifle for men and women, 50 meter rifle 3 positions for men, 25 meter rapid pistol for men and the Olympic and compound archery for men and women.

He said the Higher Organizing Committee and its subcommittees completed all preparations in time to ensure the success of this dear event. He said the ranges and equipment are at its optimum conditions to ensure a successful launch as the event is officiated by highly experienced Kuwaiti referees who participated in officiating continental and international events

Al-Osaimi thanked, on behalf of Chairman and board members as well as the shooting community, HH the Crown Prince for his patronage and support of this annual championship and his continued support for the shooters.

He said that the support and care of the Crown Prince constituted a strong motive to develop it at all levels locally and internationally specially when he was deputy chief of Kuwait National Guard and his effective role during the signing of the joint cooperation between Kuwait Shooting Sport Club and the National Guard. Al-Osaimi thanked the Public Authority for Sport as well as all ministries and entities that support the efforts of the shooting club and federation.
