KUWAIT: The Kuwaiti Cabinet on Monday reviewed the extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit, recently concluded in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, expressing utmost support for its outcomes, especially the unequivocal stance in support of the Palestinian people.
During its weekly meeting chaired by His Highness Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Cabinet also reviewed speech of His Highness the Amir’s Representative to the Summit, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who branded "indescribable” crimes committed against the Palestinian people in Gaza as the Zionist entity is leading an unjustified collective punishment that goes to all relevant international and humanitarian resolutions.
While addressing Arab and Muslim leaders, HH Sheikh Mishal called on the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to shoulder its responsibility facilitating an immediate halt of the bloodshed and provide international protection for the Palestinian people. He welcomed at the same time the UN General Assembly’s decision to call for a humanitarian truce, reflective of the magnitude of the crisis in Gaza.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah briefed the Cabinet with the Summit’s final communique, which stressed the importance of implementing resolutions issued by the OIC and the League in that regard while emphasizing the rights of the Palestinian people to freedom and independence based on the June 4, 1967 border and East Jerusalem as the capital of a Palestinian state.
National Assembly upcoming sessions and the State Audit Bureau 2022-2023 report were also of the key topics discussed during the meeting, according to Deputy Premier, Minister of State for Cabinet and National Assembly Affairs Essa Al-Kandari. —KUNA
