DOHA: Speaker of the National Assembly and head of the Parliamentary Division Ahmad Al-Saadoun arrived on Sunday in the Qatari capital Doha to participate in the 17th meeting of the heads of the Shura Councils and Parliamentary Councils in the GCC.

Al-Saadoun and the delegation of the Parliamentary Division were received by the Speaker of the Qatari Shura Council, Hassan Al-Ghanim, the head of the honorary mission, member Abdullah Al-Subaie, a number of members of the Shura Council, and the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the State of Qatar, Khaled Al-Mutairi.

The accompanying delegation includes the representative of the Parliamentary Division, Dr Hamad Al-Matar, and Secretary Dr Muhammad Al-Mahan, Treasurer Hamad Al-Obaid, members of the Executive Committee, Fahd bin Jamea, Shuaib Shaaban, and Daoud Marafi, in addition to the Secretary-General of the National Assembly, Khaled Bu Salib, and the Assistant Secretary-General of the Organizations Sector, by designation, Mishal Al-Anazi.

It is noteworthy that the 17th meeting of the heads of the Shura, Representatives, National and Ummah Councils in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries will begin its work on Tuesday. Al-Saadoun and the Parliamentary Council delegation were seen off by Deputy Speaker Mohammad Al-Mutair and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Assembly Affairs and Cabinet Affairs Essa Al-Kandari. — KUNA
