National Guard keen on honing skills of cadre

KUWAIT: Deputy Chief of the National Guard Sheikh Faisal Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah paid a visit to the Protection and Reinforcement Command, where he was welcomed by Undersecretary of the National Guard Lt Gen Hashem Al-Rifai and senior commanders.

During his visit, Sheikh Faisal received a presentation from Maj Gen Hamad Ahmad, the Commander of Protection and Reinforcement, regarding the responsibilities of the reserve force on active duty. He learned about the diverse tasks entrusted to them in various circumstances, where they serve as companions to National Guard forces in executing security and military duties to the fullest extent. Additionally, they provide vital logistical support to various ministries and state institutions during emergency and crisis situations.

Sheikh Faisal also received a briefing from Brig Gen Talal Abdullah Mohammed, who heads the Directorate of Operations and Training, regarding the responsibilities of the Protection and Enhancement Command. This included insights into its human resources and their duties in safeguarding and securing critical installations and sites.

Throughout the tour, Sheikh Faisal was briefed on state-of-the-art mechanisms and weaponry, as well as their utilization in special operations. He also learned about the weapons and equipment used for preventive inspections and explosives detection. Human personnel are trained to master these operations while maintaining tight control over vital sites during their duties.

Concluding the visit, Sheikh Faisal emphasized the ongoing commitment to rehabilitation and training plans, aimed at honing the expertise of National Guard personnel. He highlighted the importance of providing logistical support to both military and civilian organizations to ensure they are fully prepared to protect and defend the homeland.

“Since the inception of the National Guard, it has harnessed all the necessary capabilities to enhance the human element, which is the cornerstone of development. This approach ensures success in achieving our overarching goal of defending the homeland and safeguarding its capabilities, in close cooperation with the army, police and the Kuwait Fire Force. All of this is done under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and His Highness the Crown Prince, may God protect and guide them,” Sheikh Faisal said.
