KUWAIT: Al-Arabi Sports Club football team moved to the top of the Zain Premier Football League by beating Jahra 3-2 Saturday in the sixth round competitions. Al-Arabi now has 14 points ahead of Kuwait by one point, while Jahra remains at the bottom with just one point.
Jahra scored first through players Anas Al-Shibly in the 8th minute, then Al-Arabi’s Hamza Khaba equalized for his team in the 28th minute. Then Al-Shibly was awarded a penalty which Rodrigo converted in the 45th minute.
Al-Arabi equalized in the 45th minute through a penalty kick which Hamza Khaba succeeded in scoring it. Mamado Thiam headed Al-Arabi’s winning goal, ending the match with the score of 3-2.
Meanwhile Fahaheel defeated Al-Nasr 4-2, Fahaheel scored first in the 13th minute through William Baros, then Fahaheel was awarded a penalty kick, which Baros scored in the 28th minute.
Fahaheel’s Saleem Al-Houli scored the third goal for his team, while just before the end of the first half Al-Nasr’s Ayman Laqjaa scored a goal from inside the 18 yard area.
Al-Nasr scored a second goal in the second half only to see Fahaheel score a fourth goal in the 70th minute. Fahaheel now has (5) points while Al-Nasr has (7).
Salmiya continued its winning ways as they defeated Al-Shabab 2-1. Salmiya now has 9 points in fourth place while Shabab remains with 5 points in eight place.
Salmiya started attacking very strongly and their Brazilian player Seba scored in the 3rd minute, then Fawaz Ayedh scored Salmiya’s second goal, and this is how the first half ended. In the second half Salmiya resorted to defence, while Al-Shabab’s attempts continued and finally succeeded in the 82nd to cut the score in half by Carlos Rivas.
