KUWAIT: In alignment with Global Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Australian University (AU) proudly presented its Annual "AUGOESPINK” Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign on campus, in collaboration with "ARGAN Riaya.” Breast Cancer Awareness Month, observed internationally throughout October, serves as a dedicated time for individuals, organizations, and communities to unite in raising awareness about breast cancer.
It provides a crucial platform for educating the public on the significance of early detection, support, and treatment for this prevalent and life-changing disease, which affects millions of individuals and families worldwide. AU is committed to making a positive impact by spotlighting this vital cause within its community. This year’s annual drive encompassed a variety of impactful activities and functions designed to raise awareness and emphasized the importance of early detection and support for those battling this disease.
From their end, Argan Riaya made a significant contribution to this year’s drive, deploying their expert medical team on campus to engage with the AU community and highlight the importance of maintaining healthy lifestyle to reduce the risk of breast cancer, while also encouraging both staff and students to consider mammography exams. May Al-Musallam, Senior Manager of Public Relations and Marketing at AU, stressed the value of teamwork in achieving goals and emphasized the need of collective efforts to educate the community, in alignment with AU’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy.
Al-Musallam also emphasized the campaign’s importance, as it has a significant impact on the wellbeing of community members. She further added: "Breast Cancer affects many people, and it is important to provide our students with accurate information from reliable resources, educating them about the facts and dispelling myths about this disease. In addition to always encourage them to adopt healthy habits”.
