KUWAIT: Kuwait Special Olympics participated in the regional workshop for healthy societies that was hosted by Cairo with 10 Arab countries participating. Kuwait was represented by the National Director of Kuwait Special Olympics, and Sports and Training official at the Special Olympics.rThe workshop discussed and evaluated the work of the health program for 2023 and the program’s future plan.
Rihab Buresli said Kuwait Special Olympics presented its achievements in implementing the health program for the Special Olympics athletes, also its vision and future plans to complete the march of health programs in order to improve the quality of athlete’s life and educate parents on various fields that is to interest to their lives and safety, also to expand the field of training to serve the handicapped and increase chances of participating in social sports, programs and physical fitness activities to reach all mentally challenged persons and knowing the health problems they suffer from.
She said Kuwait went far in implementing the health care aspects presented by the Special Olympics through programs of medical checks on athletes in all specialties and present medical services in the fields of physical fitness, healthy nutrition, psychological health and implement programs that help promote health culture for this group.r
Meanwhile, Buresli said Kuwait Special Olympics will start activities of the health program for the 2023-2024 programs by organizing the Families Health Forum on October 30th at Nisf Essa Al-Asfour library in the presence of Physiotherapist Dr Musaed Faraj Al-Saeed and Head of the Respiratory System at Jaber Al-Ahmad Hospital. The forum will deal with pain resulting from repeated wrong moves, as well as the respiratory system health for the handicapped.
