KUWAIT: The Public Authority for Sports mourned the passing of Asad Taqi, who passed away after a long career of giving in the fields of sports and national work. In a statement on Saturday, the Public Authority for Sports conveyed the condolences of Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi and employees of the Authority to the families of the deceased.

The statement emphasized that the deceased was a symbol of national sports work and did a lot to promote sports institutions and served the youth of Kuwait and was one of its righteous sons who combined the passion of the field and the vision of the administration.

Taqi continued his career in the service of sports from leadership positions locally and continentally, where he assumed administrative and organizational tasks through which he contributed to supporting the sports movement, developing its institutional structure, formulating national policies, strengthening institutional work, and contributing to the preparation and implementation of the national sports strategy.

The Authority extends its sincere condolences and sincere sympathy to his honorable family, his relatives and loved ones, and all members of the sports family. - KUNA
