The announcement was made on the sidelines of the club's participation in the ongoing IIHF meetings currently being held in Sweden.

Club President Fahad Al-Ajmi told KUNA that the IIHF will review Kuwait's bid along with others and will announce the host country in the coming period. He expressed hope that Kuwait will have the honor of organizing this major championship, which plays an important role in placing Kuwaiti ice hockey on the international map and in advancing the sport domestically.

Al-Ajmi added that the international meetings in Sweden included the participation of the club's Development Director Mishal Al-Ajmi and board member Rashid Al-Failakawi.
