RIYADH: Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi affirmed on Saturday that the 44th anniversary of the founding of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) marks a cherished occasion to reflect on a journey marked by ambitious visions and strategic milestones that have solidified the Council’s role as a unified regional entity rooted in integration, cohesion and cooperation.
Speaking during a ceremony held at the GCC General Secretariat in Riyadh to commemorate the Council’s founding, Al-Mutairi conveyed the greetings and warm congratulations of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah to the leaders and peoples of the GCC member states.


Al-Mutairi underlined that the establishment of the GCC represents the realization of a strategic vision shared by the region’s leadership, grounded in unity of purpose, common destiny, and deep-rooted ties of faith, history and brotherhood. He added that the Gulf experience has demonstrated how ongoing coordination among member states can transform challenges into opportunities, paving the way for enhanced security, stability and development.
Reaffirming Kuwait’s unwavering commitment to Gulf solidarity, the minister emphasized the importance of advancing joint cooperation, based on the belief that unity is the cornerstone of the GCC’s strength. He highlighted the need to continue building on the foundations laid by the Council’s founding leaders, particularly by investing in human capital and youth empowerment through education and innovative initiatives. In conclusion, Al-Mutairi extended his heartfelt congratulations to the leaders and citizens of GCC states on this significant occasion, expressing appreciation to the GCC Secretary-General Jasem Al-Budaiwi and the General Secretariat for their continued efforts in strengthening Gulf cooperation and ensuring the success of the event. — KUNA
