KUNA Center launches AI training program for media professionals

KUWAIT: The KUNA Center for Media Capacity Development on Sunday launched a specialized training program titled “Using Artificial Intelligence in Social Media,” with the participation of media professionals from the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Qatar News Agency (QNA), Kuwait Investment Promotion Authority (KIA), and the State Audit Bureau.

Presented by Dr Hilal Al-Sawafi, Director of the Culture Department at United Arab Emirates University and a certified expert in smart applications, the program seeks to explore the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) in media institutions. It highlights AI’s evolving mechanisms, its diverse applications, and the potential to enhance content creation and audience engagement.

Running until May 22, the course offers both theoretical and practical training. Key topics include the fundamentals and history of AI, algorithmic tools, the scope and limitations of AI usage, as well as its integration with social media platforms. Participants will also delve into smart search and analysis engines, image design tools, and strategies for managing content and retaining digital audiences.

Established in December 1995, the KUNA Center for Media Capacity Development is one of the region’s leading media training institutions.
