Special Olympics Kuwait participates in Regional Council meeting in Cairo

CAIRO: Special Olympics Kuwait, represented by the President of the Leading Families Council and Vice President of the Regional Council, Siddiqa Al-Ansari, participated in the meeting of the Regional Council of Leading Families organized by the Special Olympics for the Middle East and North Africa region in Cairo.

Al-Ansari explained that the meeting addressed through panel discussions, dialogue sessions, reviewing experiences and inspiring success stories.

She added that the main panel discussions dealt with how to deal with behavioral challenges in players, such as stubbornness and enhancing their love for sports, lectured by Dr Mahmoud Farag and steps to train the player to be independent with Dr Doaa Seif, in addition to an interactive dialogue session to enhance the role of the player as a leader within the family and society and review the inspiring success stories of young leaders Abdul Rahman and Shahd Al-Mawafi, former members of the World Youth Leadership Council, and their mother, who provided a wonderful example of the strength of the players.

The meeting also showcased the local achievements of the member countries and their plans for 2025. Al Ansari praised the level of discussion during the meeting and its role in enhancing the work of the leading players’ family councils and its positive impact in giving players more confidence in themselves and providing them with many skills to develop and enhance their abilities in self-reliance and management of their lives, discuss and raise their issues and qualify them to integrate into society.

Al-Ansari thanked the Regional Special Olympics, headed by Ayman Abdel Wahab, and praised his keenness to pay attention to the family councils because of the vital and important role they play to advance the level of players in various fields. She also thanked Special Olympics Kuwait for its support to keep abreast of developments that would enhance the role of the family in rehabilitating players, developing their abilities, improving their quality of life and preparing them to integrate into society.
