KUWAIT: Kuwait on Wednesday hosted the 13th meeting of the senior officials committee of the Economic and Development Affairs Authority, chaired by Aseel Al-Munaifi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance. The meeting focused on ways to activate the role and responsibilities of the authority. Member states shared their views, agreeing to develop a common vision to strengthen the authority’s role in supporting the economic and development goals of the GCC countries.

In her opening remarks, Al-Munaifi stated: “We are meeting today to continue discussing the issue of activating the role and functions of the Economic and Development Affairs Authority and to come up with a common vision on the mechanism of activating the role and functions of the authority.”

She expressed hope that the meeting would help unify perspectives and positively impact joint GCC economic efforts. The outcomes of the meeting will be submitted to the permanent preparatory committee at the ministerial level for discussion and adoption at the next ministerial meeting.
