DUBAI: Kuwait Airways and Emirates Airlines signed on Monday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at developing trade agreements and bilateral partnerships, in a move that reflects a trend towards enhancing cooperation between the two carriers.
“Kuwait Airways is pleased to sign an MoU with Emirates Airlines, one of the largest airlines in the region and one of the leading airlines in the regional and international markets,” Chairman of Kuwait Airways Abdulmohsen Al-Faqan said in a statement after signing the MoU on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai.
Al-Faqan welcomed Emirates Airlines as “an important strategic partner for Kuwait Airways, as this agreement will support commercial operations to and from the State of Kuwait and the sisterly United Arab Emirates.” He stressed that this MoU will strengthen and develop relations between the two brotherly countries, which will benefit everyone, praising the efforts of Emirates Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer Adnan Kazim and both teams in making this collaboration a success.

For his part, Kazim said, “We are pleased to cooperate with Kuwait Airways and look forward to developing the bilateral partnership agreement, which will provide Kuwait Airways passengers with wider options and flexible travel dates to Dubai and from there to other destinations across our extensive global network. We look forward to working with our partners at Kuwait Airways to maximize the benefits provided to customers and strengthen the relationship between the two carriers in the coming period.”
Emirates has been serving Kuwait since 1989 and currently operates 29 flights per week on its newly-updated Airbus A350 and Boeing 777 aircraft, equipped with the widely-acclaimed Premium Economy Class, in addition to the all-new Business Class seats. It is worth noting that Kuwait Airways was established in 1954 and owns a new fleet consisting of the latest models from the world’s largest aviation companies, Boeing and Airbus.
The fleet also contains the latest advanced technologies that keep pace with the best international aviation standards, in addition to being equipped with the latest entertainment programs and seats that are designed in a modern way to suit the customers of the national carrier. — KUNA
