Mesmerizing finale to 10th IBA basketball tournament

A decade of amazing basketball, mesmerizing game, a decade of sporting excellence, a journey of 11 days from March 29 to April 11 concluded successfully carrying with it the true fervor and sky-high enthusiasm of basketball enthusiasts and sports lovers. The outdoor basketball court of United International Indian School trumpeted with the hooting and cheerleaders of more than 600 Indian school students vying for the Thomas Chandy Everrolling Trophy and Susamma Elanjickal Koshy Memorial Trophy, and 6 open category men and women’s team participated in the tournament which was welcomed wholeheartedly by the spectators.

United Indian School, last year champions, retained their overall championship trophy by clinching winning titles in almost all categories like Under 10, 12, 14, 16 & 19 respectively, Don Bosco School decked the runners up position. Bhavans, Indian School of Excellence, DPS Kuwait, ICSK, Carmel School, UIIS, IISM schools competed aggressively and with real zeal to clinch their titles respectively exhibiting real decorum and discipline on the courts.

The open category men and women’s team showcased the real melodramatic game of basketball with Decibelz and Lobcity vying with each other for the winning titles and Decibelz crowned victorious in the men open category, whereas Team Raptor, Crusaders Certified Engineers competed wholeheartedly to grab their titles showcasing true sportsmanship and fervor. In the women’s category Don Bosco women’s team clinched the Susamma Koshy Elanjickal Memorial Trophy emerging victorious defeating Decibelz and team IASC Rebounders reached the third position respectively. All in all, the 10th IBA basketball tournament was a perfect avenue of sports and culture of basketball spreading its legacy far and wide.
