MoE and CAIT promote cybersecurity awareness

KUWAIT: The Ministry of Education (MoE), in collaboration with the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT), affirmed its commitment to fostering a digitally aware generation equipped to navigate the ever-evolving world of technology and protected against cyber threats. In a statement issued Wednesday, the ministry highlighted the launch of a joint initiative titled “Cyber Monday,” a training and awareness workshop aimed at students and teachers across various educational levels. The inaugural session saw the participation of 200 students and educators.

Mona Awad, General Technical Supervisor of Computers at the ministry, underlined the MoE’s ongoing efforts to build a cyber-literate society by promoting digital awareness and embedding cybersecurity values among all segments of the community. Awad noted that the initiative reflects the ministry’s dedication to preparing a future-ready generation that can use modern technology effectively and securely. She emphasized the importance of equipping both teachers and students with fundamental knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.

She also stressed the value of strategic cooperation with CAIT, describing cybersecurity as a cornerstone of the digital age. Raising awareness of cyber risks and how to safely interact with emerging technologies remains a top priority for the ministry, she said. According to Awad, the workshop featured interactive activities designed to engage participants and enhance their understanding of cybersecurity concepts. She added that similar workshops will continue to be held every Monday until May 1. — KUNA
