KUWAIT: Capital Governor Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah on Wednesday lauded the pivotal role played by Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC) in advancing the nation’s air transport sector and delivering high-quality services to citizens and residents alike. The Governor also highlighted the airline’s contribution to Kuwait’s broader economic development.
The remarks came in a statement issued by the Capital Governorate following Sheikh Abdullah’s meeting with Chairman of Kuwait Airways’ Board of Directors, Abdulmohsen Al-Faqan, and Director of Corporate Communications and Public Relations, Hamad Al-Athaina. According to the statement, the meeting explored avenues for boosting cooperation and coordination in the fields of air transport and logistics services, aligning with the vision of Kuwait’s political leadership to provide top-tier services and achieve comprehensive national development.



In related developments, Kuwait Airways on Tuesday signed a strategic agreement with US-based Regent Aerospace for the maintenance, refurbishment, and furnishing of its aircraft cabins. Speaking at the signing ceremony, KAC Chairman Abdulmohsen Al-Faqan described the agreement as a “qualitative leap” for the national carrier, emphasizing its significance in raising service standards across the fleet. Al-Faqan further noted that Kuwait Airways has facilitated Regent Aerospace’s efforts to establish a regional hub in Kuwait, with the aim of enhancing service capabilities across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Middle East, and North Africa (MENA) regions. He added that refurbishment work on the airline’s aircraft cabins is set to begin shortly.
Underscoring the airline’s commitment to continuous growth, Al-Faqan stated that Kuwait Airways is actively strengthening partnerships with both public and private sector entities to bolster its “Blue Bird” brand. Regent Aerospace representative Reza Soltanian expressed gratitude for the support provided by Kuwait Airways’ leadership in enabling the launch of the company’s regional headquarters in Kuwait. He affirmed that the new base would serve as a strategic platform for expanding operations throughout the Gulf, Middle East, and into South Africa, citing the company’s global reputation in cabin maintenance and refurbishment. - KUNA
