KUWAIT: The Kuwaiti Armed Forces Naval Special Units carried out an operation Sunday, to remove a submerged marine obstruction near Qaruh Island, retrieve abandoned fishing nets, and rescue marine creatures and fish trapped in them. The operation was conducted to preserve marine life and ensure the safety of navigation routes for boats and ships.

In a press release, the General Staff of the Army stated that this effort is part of the Naval Force’s ongoing work to protect the marine environment. The obstruction, consisting of abandoned fishing nets, was estimated to be approximately 500 meters long and had become entangled on the sea floor, posing a direct threat to coral reefs and marine life. — KUNA
