KUWAIT: Amid strong competition between more than 70 male and female riders representing the riders of local clubs, riders Abdullah Al-Amer, Dalal Al-Sharhan, Abdulrahman Al-Hogal and Amira Abdulghani, succeeded in achieving advanced positions during the Kuwait Equestrian Center Championship for the sport of “Dressage” that was held on Friday and Saturday under the auspices of the Kuwait Equestrian Center.
The judging panel was headed by Yuri Romanov, and included riders Alaa Salem Al-Sultan, Nasiba Al-Mausharji, and Beverly McEvey.
The training level competitions witnessed a strong competition between the riders, with Amira Abdulghani achieving first place.
In the basic level, Dalal Al-Sharhan came in first place and the next category was won by Abdul Amir. In the first intermediate level, Abdulrahman Al Huqal won this category and Abdullah Al Amer won the title of the second intermediate level, the highest category of the championship. Referee Yuri Romanov and coach Jassim Al Khalfan handed the awards to the winners.
Jassim Al-Khalafan, coach of the Kuwait Equestrian Center, confirmed that the tournament succeeded with excellence and the Kuwait Equestrian Center set a new record in the number of male and female riders participating in the local “Dressage” championships, as the number of participants reached more than 70 male and female riders with an average of 96 tests in the tournament, which was held over two days at the Kuwait Equestrian Center, a great record that exceeds four times any previous tournament in the sport of “Dressage”.
