FOKE Mangaf unit holds chess and Rubik’s cube competitions

Friends of Kannur Kuwait Expats’ Association (FOKE) Mangaf Central Unit successfully organized chess and Rubik’s cube competitions for FOKE members on April 11, 2025. The event was held with a meaningful theme “A day without electronic gadgets” promoting interactive offline engagement among participants and was inaugurated by FOKE General Secretary Hariprasad U K. Zonal Executive Member Unnikrishnan Mandoor welcomed all the family members to the program, in the presence of FOKE vice president Biju Antony.

The program was presided over by unit convener Sajil Naroor, and the vote of thanks was delivered by program convener Bijo Augusty. The members of central committee, office-bearers, Vanithavedi chairperson, Balavedi secretary and other unit office-bearers extended their heartfelt wishes for the success of the event. The highlight of the event was the presence of esteemed chief guest, international chess arbiter Khalaf Al-Azmi. The chess matches were moderated by the former international chess player and arbiter Valliammai Saravanan. Both were honored with mementos as a token of appreciation.

Abel Joseph, Adel Joseph and Jithesh Pullambil won the first, second and third positions respectively for the Chess tournament. Devdutt Deepak, Ishan Shine, Roha Razal in the senior category of Rubik’s Cube competition and Shivang Sajeev Kumar, Zoha Razal, Sia Vivek secured the first, second and third positions in the junior category. All the winners and participants were recognized with the trophies and certificates making the day both memorable and motivating for all involved.
