Kuwait bags one gold, silver in Amir’s Grand Prix

KUWAIT: Kuwait added one gold and silver medal to its balance in His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Annual International Shooting Grand Prix organized by Kuwait Shooting Sport Club with the participation of 220 shooters, in addition to the accompanying administrative and technical staff from 18 Arab and foreign countries, at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex.

After a strong competition in the men's individual shooting competition, Kuwait’s shooter Yousef Tami Al-Rashidi won gold, and his colleague Abdulrahman Nasser Al-Faihan silver, while Italian Fabio Sollami won the bronze medal.

In the women's trap singles competition, Italian shooters Fiammetta Rossi won gold and Gia Ragazzini won bronze, while Poland's Sandra Natalia took the silver.

On the other hand, the precious Grand Prix is scheduled to conclude on Friday with the mixed doubles “trap” competition. Meanwhile, President of the Asian Shooting Confederation Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Homoud Al-Sabah stressed that HH the Amir International Shooting Grand Prix has become one of the most important sports forum that international shooters are keen to participate, praising the wonderful levels witnessed by the competitions and the high numbers achieved by the shooters participating in the most expensive tournaments.

Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Homoud Al-Sabah appreciated the great support that Kuwait shooting receives from His Highness the Amir, which contributed to making many achievements, praising the distinguished organization of the Kuwait organizing committee of the Grand Prix, which resulted in its remarkable success.

He said that the Kuwait-based Asian confederation is keen to facilitate the participation of the largest number of Asian teams in the tournament, which has positive effects in raising the level of shooters of the continent, noting the good results achieved by the shooters of Kuwait and the Asia in competitions of this major championship.
