HH the Amir GP: Trap finals today

KUWAIT: The final round of the “Trap” competition will be held on Thursday for men and women, within the competitions of the HH the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Annual International Grand Prix, organized by the Kuwait Shooting Sports Club with the participation of about 220 shooters, in addition to the accompanying administrative and technical staff from 18 Arab and foreign countries, at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Ranges Complex. The women’s competition will start at 2:00 PM, followed by the men’s competition at 3:00.

Omani shooter Butti Al-Shibli emphasized his keenness to participate in HH the Amir Grand Prix for the second time in a row, due to the importance of this precious tournament, and the participation of shooters at a high level in it. He added: “Kuwait has world-class shooting ranges, and participating with Kuwait champions gives us experience.” Al-Shibli noted that he aspires to achieve an advanced position in the Amir Grand Prix.

Fellow shooter Saleeb bin Nasser, who has been practicing in this sport for 25 years, agreed with Al-Shibli, noting that Kuwait’s ranges are the best and most suitable in the world and that they teach shooters well. He continued: “The weather is changing, which is positive, and the presence of world champions in the tournament helps us to gain experience.”

Lebanese shooter Elie Bijani explained that HH the Amir of Kuwait Grand Prix is very strong, and all shooters aspire to reach the final qualifiers in the hope of winning one of the colored medals.

“This is my second participation, and I have already won a medal in the HH the Amir of Kuwait Grand Prix in 2022, and I seek to repeat this achievement again,” he said. For his part, Lebanese shooter Ashraf Alloush said that the Kuwait tournament is different from other tournaments, as it is held on one of the best shooting ranges in the world, and with the participation of shooters of great levels.

As for the Turkish shooter Nadim Tolgat Tolcher, he emphasized that the competition between the shooters in HH the Amir GP is very intense, especially since it includes world and Olympic champions. Tolcher pointed out that the weather in Kuwait is suitable for competitions, stressing that the organization is wonderful and deserves praise from everyone.
