KUWAIT: Al-Safa Charitable Society has concluded its 21st humanitarian campaign, titled “With Your Giving, We Save Them”, aimed at delivering vital aid to vulnerable Syrian families along the Turkish-Syrian border and inside Syria. The initiative, which was launched on April 8, is part of the society’s ongoing efforts to ease the suffering of displaced and affected populations in the region.
In a press statement, Chairman of Al-Safa Charitable Society Mohammad Al-Shaya affirmed the organization’s continued commitment to supporting refugees and those impacted by prolonged conflict and harsh living conditions. He said the campaign focused on several high-need areas including Antakya, Reyhanli, Gaziantep, Kilis, Karkhan, and Iskenderun, as well as dispatching aid convoys under the banner “Be Their Hope” into Syrian territory.

Al-Shaya noted that the aid distributed during the campaign included food baskets, shopping coupons, summer clothing, and sponsorships for widows and orphans. Medical assistance was also provided, encompassing electric wheelchairs and treatment supplies. He highlighted the dispatch of 10 food convoys to Reyhanli, which collectively supported over 320 Syrian families for a full month, ensuring their basic food needs were met.
The campaign also featured the participation of a Kuwaiti medical delegation comprising consultants and surgeons specializing in general surgery, ENT, and urology. Their mission formed part of the “Waqf is a Healing” initiative, in cooperation with the MMT American Hospital in Reyhanli, and aimed to offer critical medical care to patients in need. Al-Shaya extended his gratitude to the generous donors in Kuwait and the General Secretariat of Endowments for their unwavering support. He also praised the contributions of the volunteer medical team, emphasizing that the campaign embodies Kuwait’s esteemed position as a beacon of humanitarian action under the country’s wise leadership. - KUNA
