KUWAIT: On Wednesday, the men's and women's trap shooting qualifiers will be held by shooting at 75 clay targets, as part of the competitions of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Annual International Shooting Grand Prix, organized by Kuwait Shooting Sport Club, with the participation of about 220 shooters, in addition to the accompanying administrative and technical staff from 18 Arab and foreign countries, at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex.
Kuwaiti shooter Abdulaziz Al-Mandeel won the silver medal last Monday, in the "Skeet" shooting competition.
In addition, the Secretary General of the Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federations Tournament Director Obaid Manahi Al-Osaimi, received member of the Egyptian House of Representatives and businesswoman, Sahar Talaat Mostafa at his office, where he presented her with the shield of the Kuwait Shooting Federation.
Sahar Talaat Moustafa expressed her happiness and pride in her first participation in HH the Amir Grand Prix, adding that it will not be her last, especially in light of the wonderful organization and strong competitions witnessed by the Grand Prix.
“The Higher Organizing Committee of the tournament, and the working committees, left nothing to chance, and the training and competitions are held at the highest level ‘organizationally’ in addition to strong competitions,” she said.
She pointed out that she is participating in the tournament with her 18-year-old son, Yassin Ihab Madi, and their goal is to achieve a medal in the tournament, which is considered one of the largest tournaments at the international level.
She thanked the President of the Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federations, Engineer Duaij Al-Otaibi, and Secretary of the Kuwaiti and Arab Shooting Federations, Obaid Manahi Al-Osaimi, for the warm reception and removing all obstacles for everyone, stressing that Kuwait is her second country, and she will be keen to participate in all competitions held on its soil.
For his part, Honorary President of the Asian Shooting confederation, Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, expressed his happiness to come to Kuwait and attend HH the Amir Grand Prix closely.
"It is not the first time that I attended this tournament, which is dear to everyone's hearts, as it bears the name of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, may God protect him," he said.
Al-Khalifa added, we are always accustomed by the Board of Directors of Kuwait Shooting Club, headed by Engineer Duaij Al-Otaibi, and in each edition of the Amir Shooting Grand Prix, to the more than wonderful organization, which develops from year to year, whether through the distinctive opening ceremony, or the participation of the strongest international teams of shooting, in addition to the presence of elite shooters, as well as the presence of the necessary experience and national cadres have an impact on the success of this GP.
He pointed out that the technical level of the tournament is very high, and the competition is very intense among the shooters to win top places, and this is considered a healthy thing that strengthens the status of the tournament.
The Honorary President of the Asian Shooting Federation thanked Kuwait and the President and Board of Directors of the Kuwait Shooting Sport Club, led by Engineer Duaij Al-Otaibi and Secretary General Obaid Al-Osaimi, for the warm reception and hospitality, and thanked the President of the Asian Shooting confederation Sheikh Salman Al-Sabah, who follows every small and large detail of the tournament to ensure the success as it deserves.
