KUWAIT: Kuwait won its first medal in His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Annual International Shooting Grand Prix organized by Kuwait Shooting Sport Club with the participation of 220 shooters, in addition to the accompanying administrative and technical staff from 18 Arab and foreign countries on Monday as shooter Abdulaziz Al-Mandeel won the silver medal in the men's skeet competition, while Italian shooters Marco Sablone and Valerio Palmucci won the gold and bronze medals.
In the women's skeet competition, Finland's Elisabet Heinonen won the gold medal, Kazakhstan's Olga Khalilova won the silver medal, and Italy's Chiara Di Marziantonio won the bronze medal.
Meanwhile, the men's and women's trap shooting competition will kick off on Tuesday as part of the championship. The official training for the competition will take place at 9:00 am, and the competitions will be held starting at 2:30 pm.
The competitions witness a high level due to the participation of a large number of shooters who have previously participated in the Olympic Games, world and continental championships. HH the Amir Grand Prix is respected and appreciated by all national shooting federations, both for the high technical level and the remarkable organization.

Al Maktoum praises the organization and competitions. For his part, Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Hasher Al Maktoum, President of United Arab Emirates Shooting Federation, emphasized his keenness to be present in the beloved State of Kuwait, in order to closely follow HH the Amir Grand Prix, in order to enjoy all its competitions.
“Certainly, shooting has made many achievements that raised the country's flag in all Olympic, international, continental, regional and Gulf forums,” he said.
He added: “As for the organization of major tournaments, it has achieved remarkable success in previous tournaments, and perhaps HH the Amir Grand Prix, which is held annually, is the best proof of my words, as the organizers have surpassed the stage of success, and are now competing with themselves in creativity andexcellence, which gains the satisfaction and appreciation of the participating delegations.”
Al Maktoum praised the shooters participating in the Grand Prix, stressing that all of them are looking for competing at the highest level, through HH the Amir Grand Prix.
Al Maktoum concluded his statement by explaining that he is keen to meet as many Kuwaiti shooters as possible during each visit, stressing that he has strong ties with them, and wishing all the shooters success and achieving the desired results.
