KUWAIT: The second sports forum for Unified Champions Schools Special Olympics organized the second sports forum for the Unified Champions Schools with the participation of players from the Al–Ahliya School at the Kazma Sports Club.
The forum included holding two matches in football and basketball in the presence of students from the two schools, led by Hana Al-Zawawi, President of Special Olympics Kuwait, Mohammed Odeh, Director of the Al -Ahliya School, Fahad Al-Sahli, board member of Al-Tomouh Club, and Huda Al-Khalidi, Director of Al-Tomouh Club, the scout team in the National School added a special festive atmosphere and players from Al-Huda School for Special Needs also participated in the forum.
In her speech at the opening of the forum, Hanaa Al-Zawawi expressed her sincere thanks and appreciation to the family of the National School, a strategic partner in translating the Unified Champions Schools program into a reality in which educational integration is achieved through sports, as a nucleus for building inclusive and comprehensive school communities that ensure that young people have access to opportunities that promote acceptance and understanding and create a school atmosphere characterized by acceptance of difference.
Al-Zawawi also thanked all efforts that contributed to the success of the program, especially our National School students who, with their participation and interaction, embodied a wonderful human and moral meaning and an honorable image of giving to build an inclusive society that gives people with disabilities the opportunity to show their energies and potential and participate effectively in the country’s development process.
She also thanked the management of Al-Ahliya and Al-Huda schools, the Regional Presidency of Special Olympics, the technical and administrative staff of Al Tomouh Club and Special Olympics Kuwait for their efforts to make the program a success, and the Ministry of Information and Kazma Sports Club for hosting the event.
