KUWAIT: Kuwait’s Namaa Charity Society has launched an emergency humanitarian campaign to distribute clean drinking water to over 12,000 Palestinian families in the northern Gaza Strip, which has been severely affected by the ongoing humanitarian crisis. As part of the initiative, 48 water tankers, each with a capacity of 5,000 liters, were dispatched to the region, delivering a total of 250 gallons of drinking water. The aid was distributed across camps where families were provided with one or two 20-liter gallons of water, depending on household size, in an effort to meet their minimum daily needs amid a worsening shortage of basic services.
“This effort is a small part of our humanitarian and religious duty toward our resilient brothers and sisters in Gaza,” said Abdulaziz Al-Kandari, Deputy CEO of Namaa Charity Society, in a statement to KUNA. “These 48 tankers delivered over just two days represent more than mere numbers — they symbolize lives saved and hope restored.” Al-Kandari stressed the logistical challenges of reaching affected areas due to the ongoing blockade and destruction of infrastructure, but affirmed the organization’s commitment to expanding the campaign.

“Despite limited access and a critical water shortage, we succeeded in reaching around 12,000 families. We will continue our efforts, driven by the belief that access to clean water is a fundamental human right,” he added. Marwan Muhaisen, Director of the Wafa Association for Development and Capacity Building, commended the strong partnership with Namaa Charity, praising Kuwait’s continued support for the people of Gaza. “This cooperation has always been, and will remain, a pillar of strength for Gaza’s residents,” he said.
This latest initiative forms part of a broader series of relief efforts spearheaded by Namaa Charity, supported by generous contributions from the people of Kuwait. The campaign is part of the urgent humanitarian response to the worsening crisis in Palestine, particularly in the Gaza Strip, which is suffering from a crippling blockade and extensive damage to essential infrastructure, including water and sewage networks. — KUNA
