Assistant FM discusses women empowerment with Coast Guard chief

KUWAIT: Assistant Foreign Minister for Human Rights Affairs Sheikha Jawaher Ibrahim Al-Duaij Al-Sabah paid an official visit to the General Directorate of the Coast Guard to discuss enhancing cooperation and aligning efforts aimed at empowering Kuwaiti women across various sectors. Sheikha Jawaher, who also chairs the national committee responsible for implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace, and Security, was received by Director General of the Coast Guard, Commodore Sheikh Mubarak Ali Al-Sabah, the Ministry of Interior’s Security Media and Public Relations Department said in a statement.

During the visit, Sheikha Jawaher was briefed on the directorate’s achievements in promoting women’s empowerment, including their growing contributions and vital roles across diverse specialties and operational duties. She also toured key facilities including operations and logistics support departments, as part of her engagement with frontline efforts. The ministry affirmed that the visit underscores its commitment to supporting women’s participation and strengthening their role in safeguarding maritime security while contributing to the realization of strategic national objectives. -KUNA
