AAM conducts its 13th free medical camp

The Anti Alcoholism Movement (AAM), a spiritual wing of the St Gregorios Indian Orthodox Maha Edavaka, Kuwait, successfully organized its 13th free medical camp on April 4, 2024, from 8 am to 2 pm at the Indian Central School, Abbassiya.

The event was held in collaboration with the Kuwait Medical Association, Indian Doctors Forum (IDF), Indian Dentists’ Alliance Kuwait (IDAK) and Kuwait Heart Foundation. The camp was officially inaugurated by Dr Sameer Humad, president of the Indian Doctors Forum, who highlighted the importance of serving the underprivileged in the community and reaffirmed IDF’s continued support for AAM’s future initiatives.

In his keynote address, Rev Fr Dr Biju George Parakkal, Vicar, Kuwait St Gregorios Maha Edavaka, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the doctors, nurses and volunteers for the success of the event. Felicitations were offered by Dr Rayavaram Raghunandan, secretary, Community Services - IDF, Dr Prasanthy Sreejith, chair, Community Welfare Committee - IDAK, Rev Fr Mathew Thomas, associate vicar, Maha Edavaka, Samuel Kattoorkaleeckal, Lay vice president, AAM, Deepak Alex Panicker, Maha Edavaka trustee, Jacob Roy, Maha Edavaka secretary.

Ebey Samuel, Medical Camp Coordinator for AAM, warmly welcomed the participating medical professionals, while Roy N K, Secretary of AAM, extended sincere gratitude to IDF, IDAK, the Kuwait Heart Foundation, and all doctors, nurses, and volunteers whose efforts ensured the event’s success.

Over 40 doctors from various specialties, including general medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, oncology, dentistry, dermatology, cardiology, orthopedics, ENT, ophthalmology, and gastroenterology were joined by 35 nurses and 35 AAM volunteers to provide free healthcare services. The camp offered a range of diagnostic tests such as blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure, ECG, ultrasound scans, dental checkups, and eye exams.

The camp drew participation from over 500 individuals of different nationalities. The overwhelming success of the 2025 AAM Medical Camp reaffirmed AAM’s strong commitment to social responsibility and its ongoing mission to support and uplift the underprivileged members of the expatriate community.
