KUWAIT: Deputy Chief of Staff of the Kuwaiti Army, Major General (Pilot) Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, conducted an inspection tour on Saturday at Abdullah Al-Mubarak Air Base, the designated site for the upcoming joint military exercise ‘Jabriya.’ The large-scale exercise, scheduled for next Thursday, will be held under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Sabah.
Organized under the supervision of the Kuwaiti Army and in collaboration with several governmental and military bodies, the exercise aims to reinforce the principles of unified national teamwork, enhance coordination, and foster a collective team spirit among various state institutions, according to an official statement.

During his visit, Major General Sabah Al-Sabah was briefed on the operational readiness of the participating units. He reviewed the planned exercise scenarios and received a detailed explanation of the coordination and field response mechanisms to be implemented. The senior official expressed his appreciation for the high level of preparedness displayed by all participating entities, emphasizing the importance of leveraging the exercise to build experience, unify operational concepts, and strengthen inter-agency cooperation.
The ‘Jabriya’ exercise — described as the first of its kind in Kuwait — will simulate the hijacking of a civilian aircraft and the subsequent rescue of hostages. Participating units include the Kuwaiti Army’s Air Force and Commando Brigade, alongside Ministry of Interior forces such as the Special Forces and Helicopter Aviation. The General Fire Force, Ministry of Health, Directorate General of Civil Aviation, and Kuwait Airways Corporation will also take part in the simulation. The drill seeks to bolster joint coordination capabilities and raise the nation’s readiness in responding to crisis situations. — KUNA
