KUWAIT: The Kuwait Accountants and Auditors Association (KAAA) announced on Saturday that it will host the 7th International Conference on Accounting, Auditing, Governance, and Sustainability: Between Theory and Practice, on April 21–22. The event will be held under the patronage and in the presence of Minister of Commerce and Industry Khalifa Al-Ajeel.

Sabah Al-Jalawi, Chairman of the KAAA Board of Directors and Supreme President of the Conference, noted that the annual gathering — organized in collaboration with the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) — serves as a prominent forum bridging academic insights with practical applications in the fields of accounting and governance.

Al-Jalawi emphasized that the conference strengthens cooperation between academics and professionals, offering a distinguished platform to explore current developments, challenges, and global best practices in accounting, auditing, governance, and sustainability — sectors he described as fundamental pillars of the international economy.

He added that the conference aligns with the goals of the “New Kuwait 2035” vision, which seeks to position Kuwait as a regional and global financial and commercial hub. “The forum supports efforts to attract investment, enhance governance and transparency, and build a sustainable economic environment through adherence to internationally recognized accounting and auditing standards,” he said.

Al-Jalawi further pointed out that this year’s conference takes place amid significant regional and global economic shifts. He stressed the importance of leveraging international experiences and engaging with thought leaders in the profession to safeguard the economy and provide actionable insights for decision-makers navigating today’s complex financial landscape. — KUNA
