KUWAIT: Minister of Public Works Dr Noura Al-Mashaan on Thursday confirmed the continuation of comprehensive road maintenance works in Mangaf as part of new extensive maintenance contracts covering highways and internal roads across the country. The initiative includes 18 major maintenance projects across six governorates. In a press statement, Dr Al-Mashaan stated that the works will commence in the most severely affected areas, gradually expanding to those less impacted. She emphasized that ministry teams are closely monitoring the implementation to ensure proper execution and adherence to standards.
Dr Al-Mashaan reiterated the government’s commitment to continuing road maintenance across all regions, with a focus on quality assurance and alignment with international standards. She noted that investing in infrastructure contributes to economic growth, enhances quality of life, and supports sustainable development objectives.

Meanwhile, Engr Abdullah Al-Kandari, supervisor of Contract 15 (First Scope) in the Ahmadi Governorate, reported that ministry teams are currently active in Block 3 of Mangaf, overseeing progress under the new maintenance framework. He added that the ongoing works involve laying an 8 cm asphalt layer (type 1), cleaning the sewage system in Dhaher, major maintenance of main roads 240 and 250, and asphalt resurfacing in Block 1 of Aqaila.
In a related statement, Engr Muhammad Al-Buraiki confirmed the completion of infrastructure cleaning and repair works in Aqaila, Fahad Al-Ahmad, and Mangaf. He added that asphalt works have been finalized in Aqaila’s Blocks 3 and 4, as well as on the main road in Jaber Al-Ali’s Area 102. Al-Buraiki also noted that upcoming maintenance works are scheduled for Block 4 of Al-Mangaf and Block 1 of Fahad Al-Ahmad. — KUNA
