KUWAIT: Abdullah Al-Salem University (ASU) has announced it will host the inaugural “Higher Education in the Age of Innovation” Summit on April 16-17, under the patronage of Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr Nader Al-Jalal. The event will bring together prominent education leaders, technology specialists and academic researchers from both Kuwait and abroad.

Chairperson of the university’s founding board of directors, Dr Moudi Al-Humoud, stated in a press release on Sunday that the summit reflects ASU’s commitment to fostering innovation and academic excellence in alignment with Kuwait’s Vision 2035. She emphasized that the event comes at a pivotal time, coinciding with accelerating transformations in the digital landscape.

Dr Al-Humoud underscored the summit’s alignment with national efforts to promote sustainable development and cultivate a generation of creative, competitive talent capable of thriving on both regional and global stages. She noted that the summit will serve as a national platform to align strategic visions and guide future policies toward a dynamic, AI-driven educational model underpinned by data analytics and robust digital governance.

Key topics on the summit’s agenda include digital transformation in higher education, technology-enhanced adaptive curricula, cybersecurity, and the role of virtual and augmented reality in learning environments. Discussions will also explore funding strategies for scientific research and the integration of academic institutions with productive sectors of the economy.

The summit will also feature an innovation and technology exhibition, showcasing outstanding student projects from universities across Kuwait. The exhibition aims to highlight the capabilities of young Kuwaiti talent and their contribution to shaping the nation’s digital economy.
