Kuwait and UAE ministers explore ways of strengthening relations

Minister underscores importance of promoting joint initiatives

KUWAIT: Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi met on Sunday with UAE Minister of State for Youth Affairs Dr Sultan Al-Neyadi to explore ways of strengthening bilateral cooperation in youth-related fields. In a press statement issued following the meeting, held at the Ministry of Information during Dr Al-Neyadi’s official visit to Kuwait, Minister Al-Mutairi emphasized the significance of fostering closer ties and enhancing communication between the two nations. He said the discussions are in line with the directives of the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and his brother, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan.

The minister underscored the importance of promoting joint initiatives and intensifying the exchange of expertise and visits between youth institutions in both countries. He noted that such efforts would contribute to the development of youth work, while supporting leadership, sustainability, and innovation. He added that leveraging successful experiences is key to empowering and motivating young people across the region.

Al-Mutairi said both sides agreed on the need to adopt a unified vision on youth issues at the Gulf level, and to coordinate positions at regional and international forums. This, he stressed, would help amplify the voice of Gulf youth and reflect their aspirations on the global stage. The minister highlighted the Gulf partnership as a vital platform for building a brighter future for upcoming generations.

He further noted that both parties committed to enhancing cooperation through regular visits, knowledge-sharing, and the exchange of successful initiatives among youth delegations. These steps, he said, would help advance efforts to empower young people and expand their role in community development and leadership. Minister Al-Mutairi warmly welcomed Dr Al-Neyadi and his accompanying delegation, expressing appreciation for the UAE’s continued efforts in fostering regional youth collaboration.

For his part, Dr Al-Neyadi praised Kuwait’s pioneering role in youth development across multiple sectors. He affirmed the UAE’s keenness to strengthen bilateral cooperation and benefit from the impactful initiatives led by Kuwait’s Ministry of State for Youth Affairs. Dr Al-Neyadi said the meeting reflected the spirit of constructive collaboration between the two brotherly nations, particularly through the sharing of expertise and best practices aimed at investing in youth potential and nurturing future-ready leaders. He stressed that such initiatives are a testament to the commitment of both countries’ leaderships to supporting Gulf youth and advancing their aspirations.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Public Authority for Youth presented Dr Al-Neyadi with a commemorative gift — a traditional artwork crafted by Kuwaiti youth from the Youth Heritage Crafts Center. In return, the Emirati minister presented Minister Al-Mutairi with a framed photograph featuring him alongside a team of astronauts from the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center, bearing the logos of the “Zayed Ambition 1” and “Zayed Ambition 2” missions. — KUNA
