Germany commends Kuwait’s distinguished humanitarian efforts

BERLIN: A senior official at Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development lauded Kuwait’s distinguished role in international development and humanitarian efforts during a high-level meeting held in Berlin on Friday. According to a statement issued by the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Germany, State Minister Niels Annen praised Kuwait’s pioneering contributions in global aid, particularly through the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development. His remarks came during talks with Ambassador Sheikha Jawaher Ibrahim Al-Duaij Al-Sabah, Assistant Foreign Minister for Human Rights Affairs and Kuwait’s Ambassador to Germany, Reem Al-Khaled.

Annen expressed Berlin’s keen interest in strengthening economic and developmental ties with Kuwait, underscoring the potential for broader cooperation across various sectors. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Third Global Disability Summit, hosted in the German capital. Discussions focused on enhancing bilateral collaboration in development and humanitarian fields, as well as reinforcing cooperation in human rights, particularly in the context of both nations’ current membership in the United Nations Human Rights Council. — KUNA
