ShareKUWAIT: Kuwait Police arrested a man who kidnapped and assaulted a child in Maidan Hawally on the first day of Eid Al-Fitr, the Interior Ministry announced on Monday.
Police launched investigations after the boy was found near a street in the Assima Governorate, with signs of physical and sexual assault on his body. The suspect was identified and arrested within 24 hours, the Interior Ministry said, adding that he confessed to his crime under interrogation.
The child is in stable condition and was taken to the forensic department, the ministry noted. Meanwhile, the suspect was referred to the proper authorities for further legal procedures, the ministry said, noting that the suspect has a criminal record including a history of drug relate crimes.
Meanwhile, Kuwait's Public Prosecution ordered the arrest of a Kuwaiti man accused of killing his wife by taking her to a desert area and running her over with his vehicle, it said in a statement on Monday.
Public Prosecution, criminal evidence department and forensic personnel examined the crime scene, the Public Prosecution said, adding that the suspect was remanded in custody after interrogation pending further investigations in the case.
