Beyond the spiritual essence and rituals of Ramadan, this holy month is also a time of unity, joy and cultural expression. Today, we highlight the blessings of Ramadan and how it serves as a bridge that brings people together across the world. Indeed, Ramadan brings us together. One of the most significant aspects of Ramadan’s cultural influence is the role of television and media.
Across all nations, religions and social backgrounds, audiences gather around their screens to enjoy special Ramadan series and programs. This shared experience transcends borders, fostering a sense of togetherness. In this article, we shed light on some of the most remarkable and meaningful productions aired during this season — though their sheer diversity makes it impossible to cover them all in one piece.
Despite time constraints, we must acknowledge some standout productions that received widespread acclaim for their stellar performances, direction and writing. Among the most celebrated were The Heart and Its Key, Al-Ashi Street and 80 Baku. Additionally, the Ramadan Cannon program brought joy not only to Egypt but to the entire Arab world, uniting audiences through its innovative concept and exciting moments of celebration. Truly, Ramadan brings us together.
The Ghabga tradition
The tradition of Ghabga, a late-night Ramadan gathering held after Tarawih prayers, has long been a cherished Gulf custom. However, in recent years, its appeal has extended far beyond the region. Today, even foreign embassies actively host Ghabga celebrations, welcoming distinguished guests from Islamic and non-Islamic backgrounds. This year, the British, Turkish, and Indian embassies were among those embracing the tradition. Notably, the Coptic Church in Kuwait has also upheld this beautiful custom for 25 years, reinforcing the idea that Ramadan brings us together.
Message of gratitude, blessings
As Ramadan draws to a close, we extend our warmest congratulations and best wishes to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, may Allah protect them. We also send heartfelt greetings to the people of Kuwait and the entire Islamic nation on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr. May this blessed month bring you all prosperity, peace, and endless blessings. Happy Ramadan — Ramadan brings us together.
